Mediterranean Super-Spice Antioxidant Blend
Oil and fat free salt alternative
A great way to incorporate more healing herbs daily is by adding them to your every-day meals. When healing herbs are mixed together, they create a synergetic effect that enhances the healing powers of the individual herbs, for the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. This recipe brings together oregano, rosemary, sumac, paprika and turmeric - which are all great medicinals.
Savory + oregano bring carvacrol and rosmarinic acid.
Thyme and rosemary add depth, thymol, and extra polyphenols, rosmarinic acid & cineole for an antioxidant and aromatic punch.
Sumac and lemon zest give brightness and more phenolic compounds, adding a tangy citrus note and antioxidants (ellagic acid & callic acid)..
Paprika and turmeric add color, antioxidants carotenoids, and an anti-inflammatory synergy.
The lemon zest adds flavonoids and a bright citrus flavor
